4th of July

Hi lovies,

Am Mittwoch war ja der Independence Day (4th of July) von Amerika! Wir hatten keine Schule (hurra xD) und sind deshalb im Pancake House frühstücken gegangen (um 13.30 Uhr ;)). Es war köstlich aber einfach zu viel! Am Nachmittag haben wir dann ein bisschen am Pool der EF Residence gechillt, bis wir nach Hermosa Beach gefahren sind, um eines der Feuerwerke zu sehen. Die Stimmung war echt toll aber es war (für mich, die Ami-Frauen waren zum Teil sogar nur im BIKINI!!!) schweine kalt ^^ Ich muss auch sagen, dass ich echt entäuscht war. Sogar wir in der Schweiz haben grössere Feuerwerke als in Amerika (und ich dachte immer in Amerika ist alles grösser als sonst auf der Welt). Es war aber trotzdem cool und ich sag euch die Amis die geben echt alles an diesem Tag. Ich sag nur "crazy & weird" diese Amis ;)

On Wednesday it was the Independence Day of America (4th of July)! We had the day off (hurray xD), that's why we went for a late breakfast (1.30 PM) to the Pancake House in Redondo Beach. It was delicious but the portion way too big for me! 

In the afternoon we chilled at the pool of the EF Residence until we went to Hermosa Beach to see the firework on the beach. The atmosphere was great but it was pretty cold (for me..the American women wore just a BIKINI!!) But guys I have to say, even in Switzerland we have bigger fireworks! What happened? I thought in America everything is bigger than somewhere else in the world ;) 

Nevertheless, it was an awesome day with crazy & weird moments (or Americans =P) haha

Laguna Rooftop

Hi friends,

Am Sonntag waren Sandy und ich ja in Laguna Beach. Dort gibts auch eine Rooftop Bar an der Pearl Street (am Pacific Coast Hwy), die wunderschön ist! Der Ausblick ist fantastisch, man sieht das Meer und fast ganz Laguna! Leider zieht es dort echt viele Leute hin, was heissen soll, dass es ein bisschen eng wird ;) Ein Besuch ist es auf alle Fälle wert!

Da der Akku meiner Kamera leider schlapp gemacht hat, musste das iPhone herhalten...

Sandy and I visited the rooftop bar (Pearl Street on Pacific Coast Hwy) in Laguna Beach. The view was amazing - you can see the ocean and almost whole Laguna! Even though there were a lot of people and it was pretty crowded, you have to visit the rooftop if you're in Laguna!

The battery of my camera didn't make it unfil we visited the rooftop..photos are taken by iPhone..

Laguna Beach ♡

Laguna Beach ist bisher der schönste Ort in Kalifornien, den ich sehen durfte (für mich 1000x schöner als Malibu). Ich fühlte mich wie im Paradies! Endlos lange scheinende Strassen mit süssen Shops und Gallerien. Die Häuser waren echt beeindruckend und leider einige Strassen zu diesen privat, sodass wir nicht nahe genug ranfahren konnten, um Fotos zu machen. Will ja verständlicherweise auch nicht jeder, das Leute kommen und Fotos vom Haus machen ;)

Wir haben uns entschlossen den Agate Street Beach und Pearl Street Beach (eine Empfehlung von Vicky Heiler, die in diesem Paradies leben durfte) zu besuchen. Es war traumhaft! 

Ich denke aber, dass die Fotos für sich sprechen..

Laguna Beach is the most beautiful place I've visited in California (1000x more beautiful than Malibu). It felt like paradise! The street seemed endless with it's cute shops and galleries. The houses were really impressiv but a lot of the streets to them were privat. Of course, I wouldn't like to have people photographing my home either ;) 

We decided to follow Vicky Heiler's recommendation and visited the Pearl Street Beach (and Agate Street Beach). It was amazing!

EM Final Spain - Italy

Hi Sweeties,

Am Sonntag haben Sandy und ich einen Ausflug nach Orange County gemacht. Schon auf dem Weg nach Newport Beach kamen wir aus dem Staunen kaum raus. Alles einfach wunderschön! Erst Priorität war aber das EM Finale Spanien - Italien. Wir haben uns also ein Cafe gesucht und dort mit angesehen, wie Italien zu 0 verliert (4:0) - Verdammt! xD 

Ich habe mich übrigens schon ein bisschen gewundert, dass die Amerikaner die EM mitverfolgen. Aber gut für uns ;)

Für wen wart ihr den?

Anschliessend sind wir dann nach Laguna Beach gefahren und ich sag euch die Bilder werden euch umhauen!

Sandy and I headed to Orange County on Sunday. Even on the way to Newport Beach we were like "OMG did you see that", "amazing!" and "beautiful" the whole way and day =)
But our first priority was the soccer game Spain - Italy. We looked for a Café and found one. Unfortunately we had to watch how Italy lost (4:0 for Spain) - dammit! xD
Actually I was really surprised that Americas are so in to the game. Good for us, so we could watch the game ;)

After the game, we drove to Laguna Beach and I tell you...the photos are amazing - stay tuned!

X Games

Am Samstagnachmittag sind wir zu den X Games nach Downtown LA gefahren. Wer nicht weiss was die X Games sind, hier eine einfach Erklärung (von Wikipedia geklaut;)):

Die X-Games sind eine Extremsportveranstaltung. Es ist die größte und wichtigste ihrer Art. Die X-Games wurden von ESPN erstmals 1994 veranstaltet und werden seitdem jährlich in verschiedenen Städten der USA ausgetragen. Die X-Games sind in Sommer- und Winterwettkämpfe unterteilt. Die Winter-X-Games finden im Januar oder Februar, die Summer-X-Games im Juli oder August statt.

Wettbewerbe (Sommer):

• BMX
• Freestyle Motocross
• Skateboard
• Rallycross

Da wir spontan (auch schon wieder! Ich werd richtig gut darin ;)) beschlossen haben hinzufahren, waren nur noch Tickets für die BMX Freestyle Vert Veranstaltung übrig (nur ca. $25 hat's pro Person gekostet!). Fand ich aber auch total super und ist echt beeindruckend was die Fahrer leisten. Es waren zwar auch ein paar Stürtze dabei (autsch!) aber sonst "WOW"!

Ich hätte eigentlich echt gerne das Skateboard Street gesehen aber ich komme bestimmt wieder ;P

On Saturday afternoon we attended the X Games in Downtown LA. If someone doesn't know what the X Games are, here a easy explanation (via Wikipedia ;)):

The X Games is an annual sports event, controlled and arranged by the U.S. sports broadcaster ESPN (with coverage also shown on its sister network ABC), which focuses on action sports. The inaugural X Games were held in summer 1995 in Rhode Island. Participants compete to win bronze, silver and gold medals, and prize money.

The Winter X Games are held in January or February (usually in January) and the Summer X Games are usually held in August, both in the United States. The location of the Winter X Games is in Aspen, Colorado through 2012, while the location for the Summer X Games is in Los Angeles.

• BMX
• Freestyle Motocross
• Skateboard
• Rallycross

Since we spontaneously (Hell yeah, I'm getting good at this xD) decited to attend the X Games, we just got tickets for the BMX Freestyle Vert competition (just $25 each!!). It was really cool and impressiv! There were some croppers (ouch!) but they did really good!

Actually I'm a big fan of the Skateboard Street, but I'm coming bach to California anyways...;P

Stalking Redondo Beach

Hi sweetpeas,

Bevor wir nach Downtown LA zu den X Games gefahren sind, haben Sandy und ich einen kleinen Spaziergang in Redondo Beach gemacht. Ich habe mich voll in den Stil der Häuser hier verliebt - einfach super hüpsch! Ich habe dann am Samstag, 30. Juni 2012 nach 80 Tag in Kalifornien auch endlich mein erstes kuscheliges (Hai bleibt Hai und ist nicht kuschelig - zählt also nicht =P) Tier gestreichelt. Ich war schon fast auf Entzug. Habe seit meiner Geburt sicher nie 7 Tage nacheinander kein Tier gestreichelt! =) Es war toll!!

Before we headed to Downtown LA to the X Games, Sandy and I went for a little walk in Redondo Beach. I love the style of the houses here - super cute! And my personal highlight: I petted my first fluffy animal on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 80 days after I arrived in Caliornia! (a shark is a shark and not a cat =P) I'm pretty sure I've never spent 7 days in a row without petting a animal since I'm born. It was amazing!!

[I'm not a psychopath or something, okay?! xD]
