1rst Post From Santa Barbara

Hey there,

Ich bin seit Samstag in Santa Barbara. Meine neue Hostfamily, die aus Hostmum Mimi und 5 weiteren EF Studierenden besteht, ist wirklich sehr nett und auch mein Zimmer ist ganz ok. Ich werde es hier also bis Dezember gut aushalten ;) Ich bin übrigens nicht ganz in Santa Barbara aber in Montecito, ein Vorort, in dem viele reiche Personen wohnen (Mimi ist's aber nicht ;)).

Da am Montag Labor Day war, hatte ich meinen ersten Schultag erst am Dienstag. Gut, was heisst Schule, es war eigentlich nur ein Einführungstag, welchen ich auch schon in Redondo Beach hatte. Für mich war's also ziemlich langweilig. Die Leute sind aber alle sehr nett. Ratet mal welches Land am Besten vertreten ist?! Die Schweiz! Ich fühlte mich, als wäre ich in Zürich (da die meisten von dort sind oder einen ähnlichen Dialekt haben)!! Aber ich als gute Studentin habe mich selbstverständlich nur in Englisch unterhalten (Schulterklopfer xD).
Am Mittwoch habe ich dann meine Classmates kennengelernt. Die sind alle sehr nett und Deutsch ;) Da ich im selben Level bin wie in Redondo (Upper Advanced), sind wir nur ca. 10 in der Klasse, was ich aber gar nicht so schlecht finde. Am Nachmittag sind Lucia (von Paraguay), Melanie (von der Schweiz) und ich dann am Strand spazieren gegangen. Da ich mit meinen zwei Koffer schon reichlich an Kleidern bedient bin (also ich könnte zwar trotzdem noch jeden Tag shoppen) und ich keinen Platz mehr habe (eher Übergewicht) ist nichts mehr mit shoppen gehen.

Alles in allem ist Santa Barbara aber ein sehr schöner Ort und ich werde hier sicher viel Spass haben.

PS: Das Internet meiner Hostfamily funktioniert nicht wirklich. Ich entschuldige mich also schon jetzt, für die lange Wartezeiten bis zu den nächsten Posts (Ich sitze jetzt gerade im Starbucks ^^).

I've arrived in Santa Barbara on Saturday. My new hostfamily, which actually is Hostmum Mimi and 5 other EF students, is really cool and my room is ok. Good enough to stay til December ;)

Since on Monday was Labor Day, I haven't had school until Tuesday. On the first day then, the new students had the orientation which was very boring because it was pretty much the same as in Redondo Beach. Oh, do you want to guess from which country most new students are? Switzerland!!! I felt like I was in Zurich, since almost everyone's from Zurich or close by.
On Wednesday, I finally met my new classmates from my level (Upper Advanced). They are very nice and german ;) We are only about 10 students in the class, a fact that I really like. In the afternoon Lucia (from Paraguay), Melanie (from Switzerland) and I went to the beach. Due to my addiction for clothes, shoes ect. I can't go shopping anymore. My two suitcases are full (and overweighted).

But everything is going well here in Santa Barbara and it's a beautiful place. I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of fun!

PS: The WiFi at my hostfamily's sucks! I'm really sorry for the long waiting until the next posts (I'm at Starbucks now^^).
